Health Check

The MEN@NET SAN Health Check is a status quo assessment of your SAN (Storage Area Network). Our experts analyse and document your IT SAN infrastructure independently of the manufacturer. Based on these findings, we advise you on how to optimise further operations. In this way you can avoid performance impairments, possible data loss or even downtimes. Depending on your requirements, a comprehensive analysis of your entire environment, a specific SAN area or a compact investigation focused on anomalies, MEN@NET works independently of any manufacturer.

Review Meetings

During our review meetings we regularly support you in the use of the software MEN@NET SAN RM. Our goal is that you operate your SAN (Storage Area Network) optimally with the help of SAN RM. Together with you, we look at and evaluate the monitoring data displayed in SAN RM. As a bonus, you also refresh your Fibre Channel know-how continuously. MEN@NET works independently of manufacturers.

Remote Monitoring

For the high availability and fail-safe operation of IT systems in a company, error-free communication of hardware components is required. Possible performance impairments or errors should be proactively detected and avoided. With remote monitoring, your network is continuously observed by our experts for a defined period of time. In the event of acute faults, we can support you immediately with our troubleshooting and initiate countermeasures with you. MEN@NET works independently of manufacturers.

Troubleshooting

Company data must be available quickly at all times. If access to the SAN (Storage Area Network) is slow, restricted or not possible at all, this can have serious consequences. In the worst case, production downtimes are the result. Thanks to their many years of experience, MEN@NET's troubleshooting experts can quickly analyse any situation and identify errors. MEN@NET works independently of manufacturers.

SAN Migration Service

SAN Migration Services consist of SAN Implementation effort, expert assistance and training for the installation of new or updated SAN Switches provided by MEN@NET. The purpose of this service is to assist customers with the deployment of SAN’s infrastructure, while train the customer to use the equipment in an efficient manor. In order to update/migrate an existing SAN infrastructure towards new SAN switches various activities need to be performed. To support these activities MEN@NET will optimize the migration efforts with an initial MEN@NET SAN Health Check and with MEN@NET SAN RM Software for documentation and verification purposes during the migration phase.

Consulting

As complex as an IT landscape can be, as versatile are the possible solutions. A neutral view from the outside can help you to get a general overview. Whatever your topic or task is at the moment, MEN@NET offers you the advice you need from competent experts. Depending on your questions we can flexibly analyse your needs in the IT infrastructure sector. We advise you to the exact extent that is required and necessary. MEN@NET works independently of manufacturers.

Trainings

Fibre Channel Technology

Dates for 2025 on inquiry
The main objective of this training is to provide basic knowledge about Fibre Channel. Administrators receive knowledge about the configuration and operation of networks. The data paths in the SAN (Storage Area Network) are illuminated. Furthermore, the performance claims of the manufacturers can be scrutinised.

Reporting using the SAN RM API

Dates for 2025 on inquiry
The workshop teaches the effective use of the SAN RM API. This workshop introduces you to the possibilities of the SAN RM API, which is part of the MEN@NET monitoring software SAN RM. You can use it to easily create reports and statistics. These reports and statistics can also be quickly made available to other departments. Knowledge of the Python programming language is an advantage.

VM Performance in the SAN

Dates for 2025 on inquiry
In this workshop the communication mechanisms of virtual machines in the SAN are examined. Possible performance bottlenecks will be identified and their causes detected and analysed. Procedures will be developed together, to avoid impairments and ensure optimal data availability.

SAN management with SAN RM

Dates for 2025 on inquiry
This workshop covers the optimal use of the MEN@NET monitoring software SAN RM. As a SAN RM user, you will benefit from the experience of our experts who will lead the workshop. Basic functions, adjustments and evaluations are part of the training. Your feedback will also be directly incorporated into the further development of the software.

Fibre Channel Troubleshooting

Dates for 2025 on inquiry
The Fibrechannel Troubleshooting Training provides you with tools and knowledge to deal with error situations quickly and in a structured way. Based on the many years of experience that our experts have gained in a large number of customer projects, various fault scenarios are discussed and analysed together in the training. This makes it possible to identify and analyse faults in the SAN independently. This knowledge ensures stable operation of the SAN environment for both daily tasks and upcoming technology changes.

SAN Performance Monitoring

Dates for 2025 on inquiry
During the workshop, important key figures in the SAN (Storage Area Network) are identified and extracted from already collected data. In this way, the availability of critical applications can be guaranteed and bottlenecks, which are usually difficult to localise, can be uncovered. SLA definitions (Service Level Agreement) are jointly evaluated and manufacturer-independent recommendations are made for smooth SAN operation.

NVMe Technology

Dates for 2025 on inquiry
This workshop deals with questions about the field of application, effort and benefits of the memory access protocol NVMe (Non-volatile Memory Express). Practical exercises will be used to discuss and demonstrate this protocol. Furthermore, NVMe over Fibre Channel will be presented and compared. From this, economic considerations for its use can be derived. This workshop is a must to get an idea of this new storage technology, which is increasingly used in the SAN area, in order to be able to form your own opinion.

InHouse-Training

Hardware

DuplexKoppler

The MEN@NET optical duplex couplers are permanent, non-reactive analysis points - also known as test access points (TAP). They serve, for example, as a connection point for an analyzer to analyse the data stream in real time and full duplex. MEN@NET duplex couplers can be used for LAN and SAN in all relevant connections and locations. In any fault situation, they enable the immediate use of analysis tools, for example a protocol analyser, a monitoring probe or even an intrusion detection system (IDS). The MEN@NET duplex couplers are made in Germany.

Protocol Analyzer

The analysis of data traffic in an IT environment is necessary to quickly detect and avoid disruptions. For a detailed examination down to the bit level, a tool is needed that masters all protocol standards. VIAVI's Xgig® has been successfully used by our SAN experts and most of the SAN component manufacturers for years. The multifunctional equipment (FibreChannel, Ethernet, PCI Express) enables the analysis of different network protocols. We can provide you with the right Xgig® model configured exactly for your application and needs.
